The Untold Story of Post Pregnancy Stretch Marks: Read Now To Know!

We’re quite sure stretch marks aren’t on your list of things to look forward to on the path to motherhood. However, the fact is that you will most likely receive them. According to research, nine out of ten pregnant women have post-pregnancy stretch marks, which generally appear in the sixth or seventh month. If you can answer “yes” to any of these concerns, it’s reasonable to assume you’ll be waging this skin war. The rolled eyes, silver lining? You are most certainly not alone!

What Is Strech Marks?

Stretch marks, also known as “striae gravidarum,” are a form of scar that develops during pregnancy. They appear on your skin as indented stripes. They come in various colors, including red, pink, blue, black, and purple. It all relies on the following factors: what occurs them, where they appear on your body, and how old they are.

Stretch marks might feel somewhat elevated when they initially develop, but they soon fade into little depressions in your skin. They may also be itchy when they appear at first glance!

Why Do Women’s Have Post-Pregnancy Stretch Marks?

Post-pregnancy stretch marks appear in nine out of ten pregnancies, most commonly in the sixth or seventh month. Pinkish streaks appear around the stomach, breasts, or hips as collagen and elastin flex and shatter during pregnancy as a result of the pressure of rapid weight gain or below given factors.

Your Mumma Also Face It

Stretch marks are no exception to the fact that genetics play a significant part in practically every sort of human condition. If your mother had them throughout her pregnancy, it might be due to a deficiency of elastin in her skin. So it’s hardly a stretch to think that your skin will suffer similarly!

You Received Them In Puberty

Hormonal fluctuations can cause the skin to become more fragile, making it more prone to ripping. If you can still see scars from your adolescent years on your hips, tummy, breasts, and buttocks, you’re in for a rematch.

You’re Young

There are many strong medical reasons to conceive a family in your early twenties, but one of them is to avoid post-pregnancy stretch marks. Consider your youthful skin to resemble a brand-new rubber band: It’s stiff and taut, so stretching it too far will certainly cause it to tear. Because skin loses rigidity as it ages, it doesn’t have to expand as much to support your growing body.

You’ve Put On Weight

Post-pregnancy stretch marks appear when your skin is unable to keep up with the rate at which your body is enlarging. Trying your best to gain weight gradually throughout pregnancy is likely the only thing under your control in terms of prevention. You should also strive not to gain more than the suggested amount, which is 25 to 35 pounds if you were a normal weight before pregnancy.

How To Eliminate Post Pregnancy Stretch Marks?

While there is no foolproof method to avoid post-pregnancy stretch marks, these tips can help you stay them to a minimum during your pregnancy.

First Triminister

When your pregnancy test shows positive, try moisturizing the areas most prone to stretch marks on your lower back, tummy,  breasts, and thighs. Stretch marks arise when the fibers immediately beneath the skin’s surface separate as a result of the strain of fast weight growth. Moisturizer maintains skin suppleness, making it less prone to break when your body expands.

Slather on a rich cream that gives long-lasting moisture in the morning. To hydrate without taking any risk, add a few drops of skin-nourishing oil to a warm bath. Another method for protecting your skin. Aim to gain weight gradually and steadily, but not more than your doctor recommends.

Second Triminister

If, despite your great attempts, you start noticing red lines, realize that you have the best chance of diminishing their appearance while they’re fresh. Stretch marks that have blurred to white are very hard to get rid.

Post-pregnancy stretch mark therapy is also safe to use beginning in the second trimester, and clinical trials have shown that it dramatically reduces scarring. Just keep in mind that you must be consistent in using it every day, and it may take up to a month to show results.

After Baby Arrive

Scars are more visible on delicate skin, therefore now is the time to start using a firming serum. Which may be safe to apply during feeding and has a skin-tightening effect.

Stretch marks normally fade to a pale, silvery tone after birth and may become unnoticeable over time. However, if you are still dissatisfied with the way they appear, a dermatologist may be able to assist. However, they are most helpful while the markings are fresh, so if you’re interested, see a dermatologist as soon as your baby comes!

When Do I expect Strech Marks Will Go Away Forever?

It all depends! Because everyone’s body recovers differently, it’s critical to attempt to be patient. Recovery will also be determined by how bad your stretch marks were to deal with, as well as the treatment technique you choose. Not every treatment option will be as effective for you as it has been for others.

Accept It, Embrace It!

If treatment options aren’t working to reduce your stretch marks, booking a round of laser treatments is a safe alternative, even if you’re breastfeeding. Remember that there is always an alternative: embrace them! Stretch marks, after all, appear in locations that most people don’t even see.
